Signing Ceremony for MoU with Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO)

BruIPO and Denmark Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 29 August for a referral arrangement of substantive search and examination of patents.  DKPTO has been acting as BruIPO’s examiner since the implementation of the indigenous patent system in Brunei Darussalam in 2012 and the signing ceremony signified the continuation of collaborative efforts between the two Offices in the area of patents for a further period of five years.  BruIPO was represented by Awang Haji Mohammad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Permanent Secretary (Industry) at the Prime Minister's Office as Registrar, whilst DKPTO was represented by Mr Keld Nymann Jensen, Deputy Director General.  Witnessing the occasion was Dato Seri Paduka Haji Hamdan bin Haji Abu Bakar in his capacity as the Acting Minister of Energy and Industry at the Prime Minister’s Office.
