BruIPO signed a Statement of Intent (SOI) on Patent Prosecution Highway Plus (PPH+) with the Japan Patent Office (JPO) on 28 August to kickstart a new patent examination cooperation initiative called the ‘Patent Prosecution Highway Plus (PPH+)’. BruIPO was represented by Awang Haji Mohammad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Permanent Secretary (Industry) at the Prime Minister's Office as Registrar, whilst JPO was represented by its Deputy Commissioner, Mr Kunihiko Shimano. The ceremony was witnessed by His Excellency Mr Motohiko Kato, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan and Dato Seri Paduka Haji Hamdan bin Haji Abu Bakar in his capacity as the Acting Minister of Energy and Industry at the Prime Minister's Office.
