The Brunei Intellectual Property Office (BruIPO) is an Office under the Attorney General`s Chambers (AGC) and was set up on 1 June 2013 in an effort to restructure the national IP administration. Currently, BruIPO is responsible for the registration of Patents, Trademarks, Industrial Designs and Plant Varieties Protection (PVP).
Our objectives are:
- To administer and facilitate the registration and renewal of trademarks, patents, industrial desings and plant varieties.
- To oversee the development of the national IP system.
- To raise awareness on the benefits of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) protection in order to enhance business growth and competitiveness and to promote an ÍP Culture' where creativity and innovation can flourish.
- To establish partnership with the relevant stakeholders in support of the national innovation ecosystem.
